Basic Movement Options

Directional Movement:
Tilt  (motion), or  (traditional) to move around.

Jump:
Press (motion), or (traditional). Combine with directional movement to dash forward, backward, left, or right.

Dash:
Press , or (traditional). Combine with directional movement to dash forward, backward, left, or right.

Air Dash:
Press (motion), or (traditional) while in air. Combine with directional movement to air dash forward, backward, left, or right.

Target Switch:
During matches with multiple players or objects, switch targets by pressing (motion/traditional), or (traditional).

Attack and Defense

Left Punch:
Punch with the left Joy-Con in hand (motion), or / (traditional). Curve punches by twisting the Joy-Con (motion), or with .
Break incoming grabs with a single punch.

Right Punch:
Punch with the right Joy-Con in hand (motion), or / (traditional). Curve punches by twisting the Joy-Con (motion), or with .
Break incoming grabs with a single punch.


Grab:
Punch simultaneously with both Joy-Con in hand (motion), or +/+ (traditional). Curve grabs by twisting the Joy-Con (motion), or with
. Break blocking opponents with grabs.

Block:
Curve inward each Joy-Con (motion), or press (traditional). This blocks all punches and explosive bomb items that would come into contact with you.

Insta-Counter/Guard Advance:
Dash immediately after blocking a punch to instantly counter it.

Additional Basic Techniques

Arms can be charged for a temporary power boost by doing any of the following:

Blocking:
Hold the block position/button to charge; the longer the hold, the longer the charge. Block immediately after a jump to instantly charge.

Jumping:
Hold the jump button to charge; the longer the hold, the longer the charge. Keep holding towards the end of your jump arc to instantly charge.

Dashing/Air Dashing:
Hold the dash button (while in air or on ground) to charge; the longer the hold, the longer the charge.


Secret Selection:
Hold down the control stick for each arm and tilt up, down, or none while pressing + to choose arms.

Rush:
Eventually, when you’ve thrown enough punches, press (motion),
or (traditional) to activate the Rush. Then, barrage at your opponent with everything you got! Additionally, Rush meters charge carry over between rounds, so keep that in mind!
